Hook Tools

When I teach pole lathe turning I forge about 20 turning hooks for the student to use. After class I offer them for sale to students first then I put them up for grabs on my webshop. This past weekend I taught 10 great folks how to turn or guide them onto more challenging projects. One student even turned his first nest!

I've been making turning hooks every since I began turning on the pole lathe but I've been forging my own tools since 1998 when I got into blacksmithing. This means there is a lot of trial and error have gone into these designs-years and 1000's of bowls.

These are forged from O-1 tool steel and come sharp and ready to use. Stick them on a handle and your good to go.

You can find them here

here they are
