New Tool to Pair with the Spoon Mule
I've been carving spoons with the spoon mule for nearly a year now. It's such a great tool for production carving. When I was in Sweden I noticed many tools called skavare. These are steel and wooden handled tools that are really simple but very effective. Much like a spokeshave or inshave but a much simpler design. Something that even a part time woodworker, part time farmer in rural Sweden could make easily enough.
I forged a drawknive with a currved radius in the blade a few months ago, but it ended up breaking. Then I thought of this.
